But what happens when tragedy strikes? A new report from the Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (Asisa) has thrown a sharp light on the yawning gap in life and disability insurance. In 2025 alone, 440 income earners are expected to die every day, while another 145 will become permanently disabled.
