MEDIA STATEMENT

MEDIA ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE 6TH SOUTH AFRICA INVESTMENT CONFERENCE

South Africa will host the sixth South African Investment Conference on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The conference will be held under the theme: “INVEST, PARTNER AND PROSPER”

Media Accreditation for South African Investment Conference

Members of the media are informed that media registration is now closed. No applications will be accepted at this stage.

A section of the live accreditation centre will be dedicated to the media members from 27–30 March 2026 from 09:00–17:00, Venue: IDC Auditorium, 19 Fredman Drive, Sandton.

The accreditation system is live, which means the media must physically present themselves to collect their accreditation with the following documents:

  • A copy of a valid passport/ID
  • A press card or letter of assignment on a media house letterhead

NB: It is also advisable to carry hard copies of all the required documents in case of any necessary security checks.

Passports and Visas

Members of the media from those countries exempted from visa requirements to South Africa need not apply for visas.

All other applicants must comply with the South African visa requirements. Journalists should contact the nearest South African Diplomatic or Consular Mission to request a South African visa.

Yellow fever certificates will be required at the ports of entry for journalists travelling from yellow fever-designated countries.

Media Facilities for South African Investment Conference

Access to media facilities will be available only to accredited media representatives. Accreditation will be open to bona fide journalists, broadcasters, photographers, film and television camera crews, and technicians.

Access to the Sandton Convention Centre by media will be through Alice Lane street behind the Convention Centre.

A Media Centre, with facilities for print, online and electronic media, will be available at Sandton Convention Centre — Venue: Exhibition -2.

  • A general work area with WIFI will be provided at the Media Centre.
  • Limited, enclosed 4×4 TV booths will be allocated on request.
  • Limited, enclosed 3×3 radio booths will be allocated on request.
  • Media will also have access to conduct media interviews at the Exhibition Centre at Level 1.

Media Coverage of the Conference

A host broadcaster has been appointed to provide clean feed to all media.

The host broadcaster will cover the official opening and closing ceremony of the South African Investment Conference.

All breakaway sessions will be closed off to media.

  • HD SDI (1920 x 1080i) video with embedded audio plugin points will be available in the Media Centre and OB parking.
  • XLR audio plugin points will be available in the Media Centre and OB parking.
  • File Transfer over USB of video clips will be available at the Media Centre.
  • 6x Clean Feeds will be available in different languages: French, Portuguese, German, Mandarin and Russian.
  • 1x Clean HD Feed with all 6 audios will be available on a Southern African Satellite beam, AMOS 17 KU Band.
  • Third party satellite service providers can be booked to turnaround feeds to other parts of the world.

Journalists are advised to make sure they arrive at the venue in good time to clear all entry security procedures before the conference start.

Rules of Access

  • All persons must comply with the access control procedures and all lawful instructions from security personnel. Failure may lead to access being denied or withdrawn if it was already granted.
  • The accreditation card is issued to individuals for the purpose of access into the event venue only.
  • The card must be worn and visible to security personnel/authorised officers at all times.
  • The accreditation card cannot be exchanged amongst one another and will be nullified if altered.
  • A lost accreditation card must be reported immediately to the accreditation centre or to security personnel.
  • Reissuance of a lost accreditation device requires an affidavit.
  • The accreditation card remains the property of the security cluster and can be withdrawn and retrieved from any individual if necessary where a violation is experienced.
